This article explains the feature of abandoned cart recovery and important point related to its functionality.

What is the use of this feature?

The functionality of abandoned cart recovery is designed with motive of reminding the customers about the products they added to the cart but didn’t complete the final purchase or Checkout.

How it works?

A client browses the online store of the site and adds some products to their cart. They leave the cart without completing the purchase. A couple of days later, they receive an email reminding them about the abandoned cart. It lists the products along with a button to checkout.

Basic functionality

The abandoned cart recovery email can be enabled after signing-in to admin panel of the site, this option can be accessed from E-Commerce > Shop Settings > Abandoned Carts Recovery The no. of days in first email delay is the delay between the cart expiry (set by shopping cart lifetime) and when the first email is sent, similarly the no. of days in the second email delay is the delay between cart expiry (set by shopping cart lifetime) and when the second email is sent.

Important points

1.) When recovering a cart, the price of attributes will remain the same as when it was added to cart
  • if abandon cart had a product with attributes and the attributes were 10$ when adding the product in cart, but now they are 15$, the price of attributes when recovering the cart will be 10$.
  • 2.) When recovering a cart, if the customer is wholesaler but is not logged in, then the list price will be used for products
