Set up PayPal Standard payments

PayPal is a globally accepted payment system that lets you collect payments from your customers in most popular currencies. The workflow for setting up a PayPal payment gateway for your site is as follows:
  1. Set up your PayPal account.
  2. Set up PayPal on your site.

Set up your PayPal account

Before you begin, create a PayPal account. For more information, see the PayPal website.

Enabling Auto Return

  1. Log in to your PayPal account and select My Account > Profile.
  2. In the My Selling Tools column, click Website Preferences.
  3. In the Auto Return for Website Payments section, select On.
  4. In the Return URL field, enter your site's secure address followed by /PaymentProcess.aspx.

    Example: https://yoursite.worldsecuresystems.com/PaymentProcess.aspx

  5. In the Payment Data Transfer section, select On and click Save.
  6. Click Website Preferences.
  7. Scroll down to the Payment Data Transfer section and copy the identity token.

Activate IPN listener

Set up PayPal on your site

  1. Log in to your Business Catalyst site and select E-Commerce > Payment Gateways.
  2. In the PayPal Customer ID field, enter the primary email address associated with your PayPal account. -- Commented out by cmiqueo-->

    Note: If you have multiple email addresses associated with your PayPal account, only use the primary email address. You can check by logging into your PayPal account and selecting My Account > Profile and then clicking Add or Edit email.

  3. In the PDT Token field, paste the identity token you obtained in the previous procedure and then click Save.
