Business Catalyst End of life announcement - find out more details.

If your online store is based in a country that requires GST or VAT taxes to be displayed, such as Australia, UK, Denmark, or Norway, you can use the system to display the relevant tax amount for products and orders.

To achieve this, all product prices are added including tax and the tax amount is displayed in the shopping cart using system tags.

Setting up the online store

  1. Select E-Commerce > Products and create all your products. Then add the product prices (tax inclusive). For more details on creating products, see Add a product.
  2. Now you need to customize your shopping cart to display the amount of tax for each product, and the order total. Select Site Manager > Module Templates > Online Shop Layouts > Shopping Cart.
  3. Now add the below two tags to your layout:
    • {tag_producttaxpercentage,percentage} - This tag will show a percentage of each product price on the shopping cart. Replace 'percentage' with the actual tax percentage you would like to display.

Example: {tag_producttaxpercentage,10} - will display 10% of each product price shown on the cart.

    • {tag_totaltaxpercentage,percentage} -This tag will show a percentage of the order total on the shopping cart. Replace 'percentage' with the actual tax percentage you would like to display.

Example: {tag_totaltaxpercentage,10} - will display 10% of the order total.

  4. Click Save.
