Create a basic ad rotator

The workflow for adding an ad rotator consists of the following steps:

  1. Create an Ad Rotator module that contains your images, text, and links.
  2. Insert the module in a page.

Note: This feature is available in the partner plan.

Create an ad rotator module

  1. Select Modules > Ad Rotators, and click Add Ad Rotator.
  2. Specify a name for the module and click Save.
  3. Click the Items button on the upper part of the page, specify the properties of the first ad, and click Save Item.

    For property details, see the tool tips next to the options.

  4. To specify more ads for the rotator, click Add Item.

Business Catalyst creates a reusable ad rotator module that you can add to one or more pages in your site.

Insert the ad rotator in a page

  1. Open the page in editing mode by selecting Site Manager > Pages, and clicking the page in the tree view.
  2. Place the cursor in the content editor where you want to insert the ad rotator.
  3. In the Modules tab of the Toolbox found on the right of the editor, select Ad Rotators.
  4. Select your ad rotator from the list.

    If you want to change the properties of the ad rotator, click Customize and adjust the properties.

  5. Click Insert.

    Business Catalyst inserts a placeholder tag representing the module. Example: {module_adrotator,32174}. When you publish the page, the module replaces the placeholder tag.

  6. Click Publish or Save Draft.

Change the ads in a rotator

  1. Select Modules > Ad Rotators, and select the ad rotator from the list.
  2. Select an item from the list, modify the properties of the ad, and click Save Item.
